Week 2 Journal
I really enjoyed his last lesson. It made me think that what I am really doing. I was like I am doing what I was wanting to do it. I doubted myself. I even doubted that if I really had a dream. Randy was a really good kid who was positive. I said, "If you can dream it, you can do it." I think it explains why he accomplished many things. Also, he learned from his experience. He did not think that he failed, he just had an experience. He learned the lessons from his experiences, and he applied those throughout his life. I think that is very important because people could just give up, but he didn't. It was a huge difference he had compared to others.
I think that dreaming is important. Dreams could give me motivation. If we have some goals, we would try to achieve those goals. Even if we couldn't achieve it, we would be grown. Dreaming stretches me a lot. If you do not have a dream, you wouldn't know why you need to live this hard life.
When I was young, I wanted to be a soccer player. I was able to get into the soccer team. I was not bad, actually, I was good. However, my parents stopped me to play soccer. I was really sad, and I got mad so much. That was something that I was good at, and I really enjoyed it. Now I am thinking that it was good to quit at that time because I don't think that I wished that much. If I really wanted to be a soccer player, I shouldn't have quitted. I didn't dream enough. I didn't even learn any lessons from that experience. I think that is the biggest reason why I wasn't able to achieve my dream.
In BYU speech, I learned that eventually, our calling is from God, even if that is not from the church. When we are sensitive to the spirit, we will be able to know what our callings are, and what we should do as children of God.
